Ready for a brief history of Beaver Lake? For more than 50 years, Beaver Lake has been one of the most well-loved recreation destinations in Arkansas. Nestled in the heart of Ozark Mountains, the lake offers vacationers an opportunity to enjoy a host of outdoor activities in a pristine natural setting.

Dock on Beaver Lake

Beaver lake was formed in 1966 after the Beaver Dam was built across the White River. Following the lake’s formation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers began construction recreation facilities, paving roads and establishing parks throughout the surrounding shorelines. Today, the area around Beaver Lake is home to more than 2,000 acres of homes, cabin rentals, campgrounds complete with hiking trails, boat ramps, swimming beaches and more.

The lake’s shorelines are characterized by their towering limestone bluffs, deep rocky crevices and a diverse assortment of native trees and flowering shrubs. Out on the water, anglers can enjoy some of the best bass fishing in the region. If you look into the history of Beaver Lake, it has even given up a number of record-breaking striped bass that weighed in at more than 40 pounds.  You can find one mounted on our wall in our office, also known as the Tree Top Gift Shop and Gallery.
